Case Study: Slide Ranch

So How does design interface with strategy?…

With our Northern California client Slide Ranch, we worked directly with the chairman of the board to first examine the potential strategic vectors for this environmental eduction pioneering non-profit. Working within a deep legacy of closeness to the earth, and looking at how technology is central to the lives of their Bay Area patrons, MMMAGIC developed a plan that involved targeting a new class of grants for online learning, while also developing a vision for a new Farm-to-Table teaching kitchen.

In addition to these elements, we defined a new tier of experiential systems, including a solar-powered vehicle to be used for curriculum in renewable energy and AI software. Additionally MMMAGIC designed and produced a groundbreaking 3D GEO-Visualization system for looking at resource ecologies in the Northern California region.

At the heart of the new campaigns for exhibits and infrastructure improvements was our proprietary content management software platform, MIXONIUM Ultra Media. The system enabled accelerated information dissemination to their support community, telling the story of a new vision, and raising millions of dollars for expansion and additional benefits to the children who visit.

For us at MMMAGIC, the designs of sophisticated systems can be all in support of strategic objectives, which in this case includes inspiring kids to learn, appreciate their environment, and to have a ton of fun all at the same time.

Magic Canyon Institute

In support of our strategic advisory and thought leadership studies, MCI is the Creative Exploration, Inspiration, Research, and Education arm of Marshall Monroe MAGIC.  It is first and foremost a state of mind, where we disconnect from conventional and transient thinking and contemplate what could be.  In a "Living Laboratory" of our own making, we integrate perspectives ranging from Monroe’s pathfinding research in Applied Imagination, to the moving window of new technology, to global trend tracking, to senior executive strategic planning and emerging youth talents, the MCi workflow and ethos is a proven model for transforming our world, and we put it to work right where we live and work.  The institute is headquartered at our studio in central New Mexico, and extended into glorious scale at our 1,100-acre ranch and conservation preserve in Northern New Mexico.
